This vision was written by Rob Matthews in 1991 and together with his philosophy of “do what you love and create great hair and the success will come naturally” the Convict Cutters brand has transcended over the years.
Not to come and go as hair styles have, but instead to remain as leaders in the hairdressing industry here in Tasmania and nationally.

Our education program is dedicated to growing future Convict Cutters and to nurture and develop the talents of our existing senior stylists. Apprentice instruction happens in the salon every Tuesday with Robert. All aspects of hairdressing are covered in a comprehensive, module system involving both theoretical and practical sessions. Continuous training is undertaken by our senior stylist as we consider ongoing learning at every level especially important.
In conjunction with Goldwell and Kerastase representatives, our product knowledge is second to none, with our technical skills perpetually improving in line with current trends.
